Itinerary

Days 1-2: Athens

The historical capital of Europe, birthplace of democracy, arts, science and philosophy of western civilization. Whether you're a foodie, Greek mythology buff, or architecture lover, there's an Athens private adventure perfect for you. How about hearing the myths about the gods of Greece from professional storytellers as you taste authentic Greek items at stops along the way?

Day 1: Arrival Athens

Meet and Greet at the Air Bridge and transfer to the passports control and luggage collection. You will be accompanied to the arrival’s hall where your driver will be waiting, holding a sign with your name for easy identification. A licensed guide will be with you on the way to Athens’ center and your hotel, for an immersive introduction to the town you are about to visit. The city is full of culture, history, and landmarks that you will admire during your drive to the center of Athens! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey as your guide provides fascinating insights into each site.

You will pass by:

• The National Gallery, Greece’s premier art museum, showcasing a rich collection of Greek and European art.

• The Panathenaic Stadium, the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble, also known as Kallimarmaro. This historic stadium hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. It was originally built in the 4th century BCE for the Panathenaic Games.

• The Temple of Olympian Zeus, one of the largest ancient temples in Greece, originally designed to be the greatest temple in the ancient world. The temple once housed a giant statue of Zeus, and 15 of its original 104 columns still stand today.

• Syntagma Square, the central square of Athens and the location of the Greek Parliament, where the change of guards takes place every hour.

• Panepistimiou Street, one of the main avenues in Athens, known for its significant neoclassical buildings. As you drive down this historic street, you'll see:

• The Academy of Athens: Founded in 1926, it is the country's leading research institution and a striking example of neoclassical architecture.

• The University of Athens: Established in 1837, it is Greece’s oldest university, with a beautiful neoclassical facade.
