Itinerary 

Day 1: Arrive San Jose
Upon your arrival to San Jose airport, a representative will accompany you to meet your driver for your private transfer to your hotel.
Accommodation: Hotel Grano de Oro

Day 2: Hacienda Alta Gracia

Day 3: Hacienda Alta Gracia

Day 4: Arenal
Today you will take a flight from Hacienda Alta Gracia to Arenal where your driver/guide will accompany you throughout your stay. Arenal’s perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a visitor's dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your “must-do in Costa Rica” list. Enjoy swimming in hot springs and visit Arenal Volcano National Park with extensive trails to explore and marvel at the beauty of the volcano.

During a natural history walk in Arenal Hanging Bridges, our natural history expert guide will accompany you in discovering the marvelous secrets hidden in this wildlife sanctuary we call rainforest. Having a specialist guide means you will acquire vast knowledge of the fauna inhabiting the reserve and will be able to watch several species from the forest canopy, undergrowth, and floor. Learn about interspecies relationships and their value, as well as the interactions within the ecosystem.

Day 5: Arenal
This morning, your exploration of the Asis Project Wildlife Rescue Center includes a short volunteering component. Explore the reserve with your guide and get to know the animals and their stories. Learn about why animal conservation is important, how it should be done, and what impact we all have on animal habitats. Next, learn how to prepare the animals' food, and take the food to the animals which will be a highlight of your visit. Go home with a deeper knowledge of local wildlife and have some amazing pictures to show your friends and family.

Later that day, hike the Arenal volcano. Drive to the active western side of the volcano and embark on a hike which traverses the rainforest and crosses over a large lava flow from 1968. Observe a variety of plants, wildlife and magnificent lava rock formations. Once on the top of the lava flow you will have a beautiful view of Arenal Lake. The hike concludes with a relaxing stop at the otherworldly tended gardens and waterfalls of Tabacon Hot Springs plus a delicious dinner.

Day 6: Pure Nature Safari Floating Experience
Experience the peacefulness of the forest floating down the Frío River with the opportunity to observe plenty of wildlife along the way. Monkeys, sloths, iguanas, turtles, caimans and numerous bird species can be spotted. The boat doesn’t use a motor, so you can enjoy the sounds of nature as we paddle down the river offering you opportunities to take marvelous photos. The naturalist guide will point out the secret living treasures of this world and describe them to you. At the end of your boat trip you'll share an unforgettable experience with a Costa Rican family. Enjoy homemade snacks at their farm and practice some Spanish with them. (Spanish Lessons are free!!!).

Day 7: Rio Celeste
Leave early and arrive at Tenorio Volcano National Park where you’ll hike through lush tropical rainforest and twittering birds. You’ll arrive at “Los Teñideros", the site where two streams of crystalline water come together and form the heavenly color blue that gives the river its name. Hike trails rich with ecological wonders leading to "Las Ollas", beautiful openings in the earth. Continue through the jungle to the volcano’s furnace vents that expel gases at extremely high temperatures. As you descend, you'll get to see the spectacular Rio Celeste waterfall with its one-of-a-kind, blue color.

Day 8: Origins Lodge
Enjoy the activities available at Origins Lodge or just relax and enjoy the day. Activities at Origins Lodge are designed to enliven and enchant, and depending on how you apprehend them, they reveal something different each time. Whether taking a guided or private stroll, you might find yourself picking fruits with our principal gardener or sticking your hand in a swarm of stingless Melipone bees while learning the rare healing properties of their honey.

• Sensorial Pathways: Take a morning walk with the Chef for the day's menu or roam with a passionate botanist through a journey of sweet perfumes.
• Wildlife Night Tour: Live the thrill of walking under the moonlight with our naturalist guide, through the Costa Rican forest, witnessing astonishing nocturnal animal species!
• Horseback Riding: Feel like blazing your own trail? Venture into the jungle on either a private or group guided horseback trip.
• Lagoon Fishing: Find inspiration in a lakeside meditation, or try your luck fishing at one of 11 lagoons.

Days 9-11: Las Catalinas, Guanacaste.
After breakfast, travel to Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas, Guanacaste. Enjoy an endless sea of Pura Vida at Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas, a secluded paradise where adventurous moments meet serene comfort. Explore the streets of their cosmopolitan hometown, choose from one of their many handcrafted experiences, or sit back and soak in the sun all day from your private pool villa… a long list of extraordinary memories awaits you.

• Surfing Lessons:  With some of the best swells, warm water, and extensive beaches, a surf experience in Costa Rica is one you will remember for years to come.
• Kayak at Danta Beach: Kayak atop the warm waters of nearby Playa Danta. Start the day with a sunrise paddle or paddle the day away and watch the sunset over the Costa Rican countryside.
• Catamaran Sailing: Set out for a day of new sights as you enjoy a completely private catamaran tour of the Guanacaste Coast.
• Canopy Tour: With over 1200 meters of zipline platforms and hanging bridges, the Congo Trail is a once-in-a-lifetime jungle adventure.
